Time to talk

Join our journey to make our four focus wards in the South Tees area safe and simple to walk, cycle, exercise, get around and go further by completing this survey and telling us how you feel.

As you know, we are working with Groundwork NE & Cumbria and You’ve Got This to address barriers to walking and cycling within the areas of Brambles and Thorntree, Grangetown, North Ormesby and South Bank - something we refer to as active travel.

Active travel is a great way for you to take part in physical activity whilst doing the things you do everyday, like travelling to school, work or for leisure. It enables more people to be more active every day without having to go too far or access too many services. Active travel also provides more opportunities to travel further across Middlesbrough, see family and friends or access new things. However, we have found that there are too many barriers to cycling and walking locally.

It is essential that we understand these barriers, which is why we have set up the ‘What are you made of?’ campaign. We are talking to everyone to find out more because we feel your views are fundamental in helping us understand the barriers that exist.

You will have seen that we did some community consultation events in March and now we’re launching some questions online for those who didn’t manage to get there. You can access the survey below, it should only take around 5 minutes to complete and you can also join us on Facebook to follow the conversation.

We want to know your ideas, problems and opinions, we will take this information away, and work with local businesses and organisations to see what can be done. By joining us on FB, we can share the results of our consultation process with you at every step of the way so that you can keep contributing and be part of the solution too.
