About us
Community Ventures (Middlesbrough) Limited (CVL) is a community anchor organisation in the heart of East Middlesbrough. We create safe spaces and more connected communities, by providing wrap around individualised support for people to learn, do and grow. We work with funders and partners to do this through our childcare programmes, engagement activities, food bank, affordable housing, jobs and volunteering. We also provide a base for other voluntary and support organisations to offer specialist training and outreach activities.
Established in 1989, we are here because both the Thorntree and North Ormesby areas experience extreme pockets of deprivation, unemployment, and shorter life expectancy. The negative impact this has on local people's mental health, aspirations, health, and finances are incredibly high, so we act as a catalyst for change.
